They became famous throughout China for protecting the innocent. Later, their temple was burned down by the Manchu’s and the monks fled south, creating pockets of resistance by showing the villagers the self-defense aspects of Kung Fu.
Because many of these villagers were businessmen, they traded with their counterparts in Okinawa and showed them some of these basic Kung Fu skills. Later these Kung Fu techniques in Okinawa became known as Karate or China Hand
techniques. Around 1917, these basic Kung Fu (Karate) movements made their way to Japan and Korea.
A Modern Curriculum for Today’s Busy Lifestyle
Today there are many terms used for martial arts that can cause confusion and maybe even provide false or misleading statements and assumptions. Don’t be fooled by this. We hear such terms as MMA, Kickboxing, Judo and many others.
Though all these different methods have a course of study, they concentrate on just one aspect of martial arts. For example, MMA is more of a sport, while Kickboxing is done as just an exercise program. Neither really teaches you self-defense or a comprehensive health strategy that uses the Internal Dynamics of Kung Fu.
Kung Fu is the oldest and most comprehensive system of martial arts; the predecessor of other methods of martial arts. In other words, Kung Fu is a complete training method for conditioning, self-defense, and life skills such as concentration, discipline and leadership. We combine four class subjects (Drills for Skills, Kickboxing, Self-Defense and Routines) to provide you with a great workout as you develop the proper techniques and skills for self-defense.
